Sonic Drive-In

The shakes, the slurpees are good, my only issue is the service, whether its 5 cars or 25 cars, is pretty long, this visit for 3 items took 35 minutes, that's after it was ordered to come out, probably 7 cars there?? Time before I was hungry with the grandkids, pressed the button, which then informed me to wait for a moment, that moment was 30minutes before I became upset at my wasted time and never did have my order even addressed or placed, the button was still going red" please wait a minute " when I pulled out.. guess I'll wait til they get more employees or the fall when any traffic is not to overwhelming for the Sonic""

Amazing food and shakes.

Don’t know if the milkshakes were any good, after 20 minutes waiting to order we left. Great job sonic team, seemed to be still moving drive thru people through??

Just drive up in car park push button order food ... they bring it to the car also you can eat outside also has drive-through **warning don't drink slushy drinks to fast :) ice cream headache !!

So I’ll start this by saying that I’m originally from Oklahoma and have had Sonic my whole life. Love Sonic and it’s one of the places I look forward to eating at when I can find one out here. This location puts the name to shame. Sonic is known for their drink combinations yet this location couldn’t figure out how to make a very simple Vanilla Cream Dr. Pepper. They asked us if that meant we wanted coffee creamer in the drink?!?!? Lol. We clarified that it’s just the real cream they use for drinks and they left it out. To add insult to injury they left bacon off of all of our bacon cheeseburgers. Maybe this location could pull their heads out and do a better job of representing Sonic but to do so they clearly need some training on the basics. The food was still good but make sure you check your order before you leave.

Got every item wrong after like many other people say you have to walk them through with baby steps to simply order anything. Lost out in sea this place is and they need to be rescue desperately. Maybe undercover bosses can save this place? Their workers need to be shipped to Afghanistan and replace with better ones

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! We normally have very positive experiences at Sonic in Nags Head , NC. However, service today was less than acceptable. We pulled into a space to place our order and were never acknowledged. At that point we decided to try the drive thru. Waited 5 minutes and no one took our order. At that point we decided to walk up and place our order. After this experience we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Horrible experience at Nags Head tonight. Pulled up to order, pushed the red button to order, after several minutes someone shouted something and we responded excuse me. Pushed the button again and waited a few more minutes. Someone stated - We would be glad to serve you in the drive thru. Now the drive thru was wrapped around the building, but we got in line. Waited 20 minutes and moved up 2 cars, do we left. I understand we are at the beach and it's busy. But it's almost 10 pm and they should be prepared for a crowd or have some way of letting you know the parking spots are not being served. Was really looking forward to some Sonic food. Don't think we will be going back...Lost a Great Customer tonight !!!

I love Sonic. I've been going since I was a kid. This Sonic was ok though. I'm giving it only 3 stars because the lemonberry slushe I ordered was way too sweet and tasted more like limeberry. I also ordered the jalapeño cheddar poppers. Those were nice and crispy and yummy.

Very friendly staff and decently quick service. This was actually our first time eating at Sonic. They made a good first impression.

The place was trashy. None of the screens worked. They had a car hop from another place...looked she just wanted be some where else. If I could give it no stars I would. I hope we don't get food poisoning. Nasty

Drive thru person very rude. Grabbed credit card out of my hands and was super snarky when we asked what flavor slushie she had handed us. Then when our order was short 1 slushie she banged her hand on the counter and rolled her eyes and huffed. Need some serious customer service training.

The best greasy food around. Stained my shirt but so worth it. It was a memorable experience and we definitely will be back for more :)

Sonics are good, but not good enough to wait over 20 minutes for anyone to even answer the red button. So many other great places in OBX. Find a sit down restaurant, you'll get in and out faster than you would going here...

Currently sitting as the only customer at the drive In station after waiting around 10 minutes at the drive through and hearing nothing. Haven't heard anything from an employee here either. I have made eye contact with one of the 5 employees who is currently working. She was sweeping, made eye contact and slowly continued her sweeping. It's been about 10 or so minutes since that point and still have not heard anything from the staff. This is the third time this week that it has taken more than 30 minutes to get our order.

Food was great. The speaker system was a little hard to converse with the employee.

First time at a Sonic. Waited 31 minutes for two small Sonic blasts. If I hadn't paid at window I would've left after 10. Fun to order from my car I guess? Not fun sitting in my car for a half hour for soft ice cream. Buy local! I should have.

Ate here a little while ago and asked for a fork for my smother tater tots. The worker then went inside to grab one and I followed along. The lady did not see me come in and automatically started to be rude saying “they need a fork for tots?” And started laughing, then started on this is the people who asked for some of their topping for a hotdog to be out on the side. I called to speak to a manager and was hung up on. I am a local and I will Not be coming back!

Love Sonic!! This one, not so much! It just takes too long for any type of order -- even ordering ahead on the app you wait because they don't start your order until you get there. Why pick a time??? Sadly, my favorite grilled cheese was made very poorly. Will skip this Sonic in the future. **sad face***

It was a quick bite to eat and open later than some other places. Or sandwiches were flat but edible. The outside of the restaurant didn't smell so great. It was open around 10pm and conveniently placed to our hotel; for that I say thanks.

Took awhile to put our LARGE PARTY order in and Alot of it was special order. They got everything Right and it was hot when we arrived home.

Strange set up for ordering but it was out first time there. The server was nice and we didnt have to wait to long for food.

I ordered two combo meals and a corn dog and pretzel. It took a half hour to get our food. When they brought it out they said laughing: "Sorry, the crew was messing around. Sorry again". I didn't think it was funny but she kept laughing. My sandwich was mostly barbeque sauce and my husband's limeade was made wrong.

Got a cherry limeade slushie was just freaking ice no flavor ,nothing , literal ice!!!!!! .. Then had to pull ahead an wait for food.. Forgets ranch ,ketchup . i mean why ask if we need something then forget it. We used to come here a lot. Well we defiantly wont be coming back. Overall Terrible .

We love Sonic and the drinks were fine and server friendly. But it is one of the slowest locations around. It took over 20 minutes for 6 drinks. This is not the first time it's been excruciatingly slow at this location.

The machines took a long time to get someone to respond but they made the food quick and the food was decent for the price. nice tots. The burgers are like an inferior version of five guys but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Has gotten a lot better than it used to be I hope it stays this way

Go there for French toast and no syrup, wasted 30 min for nothing and couldn't tell me before I ordered wanted until they brought my food out and I asked for it and still didn't tell me went back inside to act like they were looking for some, so wasted more of my time. Next time tell people up front, so they're not wasting time. And this isn't the first time I've had problems at this location.

Service was good however all 4 items were cold when received. On top of that the drinks are a total rip off. The ice was literally to the top of the cup. Out of 12 oz I may have actually gotten 3 oz of my drink. To finish it off this wasn't even a cheap meal. Not worth it.

By far the worst Sonic we have been to. They shut down the parking lot orders and would only serve drive through. After waiting 15 minutes to order with only one car ahead of me, they took our order 3 times due to drive through comms problems. After all that they still managed to mess up our order. We won't be back to sonic at nags head.

The service was well and they were polite and professional. We also ordered food for 5 and it came to 52 dollars. Which isnt to bad. The food was above average and well made with no mistakes to our order.

That food is good the price is overrated. They charge way to much for the food as the quality doesn't match the price

Can't go wrong with Sonic at the OBX

Was recently here. Hadn't been to a Sonic in quite some time. The Supersonic Cheeseburger was much bigger than expected and was very good. Had some tots on the side and cherry limeade. Our server did a great job. She made sure the order was correct. No complaints from me. Thank you!

Food was good. I hadn't eaten at a Sonic in a long time. Employees were wonderful.

Ordered online, sat at the stall for 15 mins... sever was sweet, read the receipt back, food was good. Would have been better if all 3 burgers had the toppings we chose but didn't realize until we left.

Always good for a snack. I think well of their breakfast burritos and it's nice to be able to get tater tots as an alternative to french fries. The cinasnacks and deep fried Oreo cookies (for a limited time) are wonderful although they make my cardiologist scream.
